I am hoping someone can help me with some information. About 4 weeks ago we noticed one of our boyz Sparty didnt seem to be well.....then noticed that there was lots of pooh around the house and that he was squatting everywhere and appeared to be straining. We took him to the vets where they gave him an injection of antibiotics (in case it was urinary tract infection) they got a urine sample and tested but nothing came back. We have been away for xmas for two weeks (we had a friend house/cat sitting) and have found he is still not right. He seems to have lost a lot of weight, when I pick him up he feels less dense and he is very skinny. He doesnt seem to be eating well either which never used to be an issue with him before......I have noticed that there is a clear gel like stuff in his pooh also. We have been feeding him cooked chicken as he seems to like that but still not eating his normal amounts. I am taking back to the vets just to be sure but if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it.
Hi..sorry your baby is not well..might be a good idea to take a poo sample to the vet with you so i can be tested..i hope baby gets better very soon
Yes, take a poo sample. Could be something's amiss in his intestines, like parasites or a bacterial imbalance. Inflammation of the large intestine will give mucus in the poo, that's probably the clear gel you noticed.
I hope Sparty gets well soon!
Hi Amanda..how did you go at the vets with Sparty?
I hope it was nothing too serious
He seems to be getting better, will keep a close eye on him just to be sure. We are feeding him cooked chicken which he seems to enjoy but if he has not put on more condition in the next week I will take him to the vet and get a full check done. His toilet has firmed up too so hopefully it was just a wee bug....
Good to hear he is improving..Denzil has an eye infection at the moment & he doesn't like having the cream put in his eyes..the down side of him rolling in the dirt when he is outside as he is not a gentle one..he loves to flick dirt everywhere..cheeky bugger
Good to hear, I hope he will keep getting better
.
@Angela: Poor Denzil, hope he gets well soon as well.
Oh they can be sensitive little guys. Hope he gets well soon. Thank you for the gift too He could have a bug of some sort or a virus there are many.
was some sort of tummy bug - we had a dev with one a while ago - we tend to stick to a RC bland diet these days with some cooked chicken and fresh cooked white fish - works well
