Amelies advice on Child raising & discipline for the everyday Housecat!

Hi,  I am Amelie Charlamae I am a young mother. You might think I am too young to have the experience to give advice but my mother (human) says I am talented - a born mother

Anyway, I believe you must be there  for your children, kittens in my case, they need to feel secure, they need to be well fed, clean (both ends)  and they should respect their mother. I will show with pictures my approach, dicipline and secure holds neccessary to succeed in kitten raising with love.

Please read the following information followed by pictorial demonstrations:

In this first pic I am showing gentle persuasion. Notice abit of pressure on the body , a gentle hold. Note the kittens expression - not entirely listening to me Note my hold on the neck and gentle pressure on the body. Note the back leg this is important, any movement now and this is where he gets it. Sometimes this doesn't work - I turn the other cheek!Sometimes you just have to tell them who is boss!!But in every litter you can get a real little up-start and as embarrassing as it is to publish here you can get a real problem child. You have to show firmness without going to far.I am showing live demonstrations with my most challenging Child(kitten) 'Freddy Mercury'

This is restraint without cruelty. It is important that your children do not think you are a push-over.

The Two at Once, two out of six ain't bad Hold

In the next pictorial I am showing a very useful hold (Restraint)method where two children can be held at once - very good for the average mother with more than one child at the same time.  Note Below:  I am hold my son with abit of body pressure from my front and back paws and I also have my daughter securely clasped by the cheek fur. These two should not cause me any problems now

Now in the next pictorial I am going to show a display of complete disrespect.  I know it will shock all young mothers out there but believe me it is very common and can happen in any well brought up familyI will say it once and once only 'No Child should ever Chew your Ears!'

In this case and this is only when you have exhausted all methods i.e. turning the other cheek, trying to talk to your child, gentle restrain methods etc as I have shown above................. then only then I use this one.......................... It is the last resort..............It is called ' Laying Down the Horse' ................................Pls note this is a last resort  ............Note the arm lock at the front, the little Tyke won't mess with me now!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Do not practise this technique if you do not feel confident.

That is fantastic Karolyn and well narrated Amelie Charlamae!

There are many good pointers there and I particularly like "The Two at Once, two out of six ain't bad Hold".

Wonderful Blog Post.

Hi Thank you everybody. Amelie says, as far as the 'Two Leggers' go - they are slippery characters, she thinks most advice could be applied.  She was abit unsure of the 'Two at once - Two out of six ain't bad hold' due to the lack of cheek fur but them she realised some of her children were just as bald. All in all she recommends de-sexing at an early age and she said a micro-chip is a good idea for youngsters in case they do a runner at Shopping centre also Good Luck!!  signed Amelie xx
