I thought I would quickly share the absolute rollercoaster we have been through in the last six months.

All is well with Miss Charm. She is full of sass and loves to carry toys around and jump on the heads of her sleeping aunties. There isn't one cat in the household that she hasn't charmed into playing with her. I adore her and love her silly, naughty attitude.

Her brother, on the other hand, has gone from health problem to health problem and we still have no definitive answers. He started off around ten weeks of age manifesting with gigantic pupils and abrupt weightloss. Our vet detected a very slight heart murmur which is being  monitored. The weightloss continued and was followed by loss of vision and an inability to keep food down. A test showed his  platelet count  low and falling. He and his sister were both wormed, of course but he came up with a huge roundworm burden. Every cat in the house was rewormed and we hoped his problems would sort themselves out.

At this point I had some very good friends who were interested in giving him a home, no matter how temporary as he wasn't handling the rough play of his sister. He went through various name changes until they settled on him being Leetamy Charming Samson with Dobby his pet name. All the time he was continuing to regurgitate his food, lose weight, remain quiet, cold and listless and his platelet count was getting down to a dangerous level. Dobby has been tested for every possible thing we can think of with nothing coming back positive. Its very frustrating!

We are now at the possible diagnosis of spontaneous dwarfism. At nearly six months of age his testicles haven't descended and he still has all of his baby teeth. He is also around 1/3 the size of his sister. He is still quiet and reserved but plays on his terms. He also regurgitates his food every fourth of fifth day.

Dobby has us scratching our heads. His case study is being sent around the world to see if we can actually figure out whats wrong with this little lad.

Just a quick update. The little lad has been put on Gaviscon of all things and is keeping his meals down, is growing fur and looking bright eyed and bushy tailed. I hope it is just that the muscle keeping his tummy contents down just needs to mature. Fingers crossed!
