many thanks, the MILs told me on telephone today he had his op after all - hes in a good side ward - thing is - he hadent had anything to eat for over a week with the tests the waiting the nil by mouth - so asap after the op they decided to do since nothing else did the trick - today he tried to get out of bed (gently hes aged 82 but all with it !) - and then the drugs the anasthetics all hit HIM !! he had something called a HIGH ? dont know what he did in the ward - MIL didnt say - but seems he was happy about it !!! anyways shes stuck him back in some pajamas (not DEVON PANJAMS please note DZ members!) - but by tomorrow he will have a heck of a hangover and wont recall anything at alls - ward 109 in staffs UK sounds some of a hospital - whoops !!!!!!!!!

thanks for the kind thoughts - hospital ran out of scanner time yesterday so think theyre doing it today - the uk NHS systems short of cash so they shut their expensive mri scanners down and dont run them all the time - thats not good and the MIL and DIL waited all day - not had a call so far - as said the oldies can be a big worry bless them !

All the best for you all.  It is very hard when they get over 80. My Dad is 82 and doing well but my Mum is 73 and not so good. But you do worry about them - Hope all goes well there Babs

I hope all goes well for your FIL.  Such a worrying time as they get older & I hope MIL is coping.

thanks - no news - doing scans - think maybe a blockage in intestines - the MILs stressed me a bit but came off phone to cuddle the devons they did the trick ! nb not easy being aged over eighty even if comfy where they are but wish were closer to us would be easier to tlc and cope - UK saying says "you cant transplant old trees" - this seems so true !

What a worrying time for you Babs... best wishes for your father in law, I hope you get some better news soon.

hi, have the father in law in the hospital - the MIL and DIL live about fifty miles away that doesnt sound very much but the UK being a small busy country the roads can also be clogged up so am filling the Fiat with fuel asap in case we have to go fast - he had a heart triple bypass years ago but they are doing tests and some scans today because they dont think its his heart thankfully but it could be a bad virus maybe - peters mother phoned last night - she panics at her age ps theyre both early eighties - going to be a long monday til we both hear how he is !

sent off for six rare breed bantam hen hatching eggs since some of my existing black marans and also a light sussex han have gone really so broody - and both the cockerels are a bit useless ie dim and dont try to mate them and the single fertile egg from the buff plymouth rock their broody hen hasnt even hatched - its only a few pds sterling for a postal delivery of some eggs so should be here sometime this week to stick these under the broodies and try for bantam hen babies tihs summer in about three weeks - we have ten bantams and hens here - relaxing after all these cats of course -
