HI all, Just wanted to ask a question, might sound silly .

When do male devons start showing signs of hormone change. I havent had a boy cat & I wondered if they are not fixed & being indoor cats, do they spray & at what age do hormones kick in.

I see alot of devons desexed before leaving breeders & that suits me fine but I still wonder about ones not fixed.

Curious as I cant remember last time I had a male cat full stop & all my girls regardless of breed were all fixed before 6 months as i know they can come into season from then on sometimes.

we had our males neutered at age five and a half to six mths after we had had them which is usual in the UK - we havent had any problems with devon rexes spraying at all here - unlike our big beautiful si balinese male neuter aged three who sometimes does spray if hes upset at something ! some breeders now neuter before the kittens go to their new homes so that nobody does unauthorised breeding and or spoils their lines - this is sensible too - our uk vet advises spaying/castrating at this same age of 5 1/2 to 6 mths -
